Smartpunk Presents The Bamboozle GAB

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Smartpunk by District Lines has partnered with New Jersey-based rock and pop festival The Bamboozle to present all four of the 2010 GABs for Bamboozle festivals and the Bamboozle Roadshow. The GAB (“Get Absolutely Bamboozled”) includes Bamboozle TV, various artist chat rooms, and a multi-topic fan forum, and is an integral part of the three Bamboozle festivals.

The Bamboozle hosts major concert events in New Jersey, California and Chicago annually. The Bamboozle Roadshow hits the road in the coming months for a nationwide tour. The tour features headliners like All Time Low, Boys Like Girls and Third Eye Blind, along with a stacked bill of support and is set to hit 26 major US cities this summer.

The GAB enables artists, fans and concert-goers to share a unique and interactive online experience on TheBamboozle.com. Similarly, the Smartpunk and District Lines shopping networks promote the same sense of community and love for music. Together, AKT Enterprises and The Bamboozle look forward to a very successful festival season.

District Lines, an AKT Enterprises company, has announced it has acquired SmartPunk, one of the world’s leading online music merchandising stores. With this acquisition, SmartPunk becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of AKT Enterprises and will join the company’s comprehensive network of design, merchandising and marketing companies.

“The SmartPunk acquisition advances our pursuit of innovation and excellence in merchandising across both online and offline communities,” said Alex Tchekmeian, president of AKT Enterprises.  “The combination of District Lines and SmartPunk will create a leading force in music merchandising. Together, we will be a stronger business partner, delivering customers the most competitive portfolio of products and services in the industry.”

In the upcoming weeks, the District Lines team will begin executing a planned integration of the two companies’ operations  to ensure a smooth transition and immediate value for vendors, clients, and customers.  The move accelerates AKT’s strategic initiative to advance SmartPunk’s website and storefront, developing a more interactive platform centered around user-generated content.

AKT’s expertise in online stores and entertainment merchandise coupled with SmartPunk’s worldwide customer reach will rapidly enhance AKT’s ability to capitalize on the ever-growing music merchandising marketplace.
